As you all know, PaxiGo has some powerful features built in to enable you to send email notifications, newsletters etc out to your clients.

The mailing list function allows you to build lists from registered clients, or people who have purchased products from your site, or just people who have contacted you via the enquiries page, provided they have given permission for you to mail them.

Once the mailing list is created, then it is completely separate from the web site, and although you can maintain it via the PaxiGo site editor, it will not change to reflect any clients that you have removed from your site.

In the site editor, you can add individuals to a mailing list, and also delete them.

It is extremely important that if someone asks to be removed from your mailing list, that you edit the mailing list and remove them straight away. Australian privacy ligislation requires this, but also, if you continue to send out emails to peope who have asked not to receive it, you will quickly ind yourself labelled as a spammer. If, for example, a hotmail user receives such an email, and they mark it as spam, then your domain will be added to hotmail's spam blacklist, and it will then become added to other spam blacklists. This will result in genuine emails to people who do want to receive updates from you being blocked by hotmail or other ISPs.

In order to protect our reputation, and the reputations of other PaxiGo users, we will be enforcing our policy, outlined in our terms and conditions, and taking steps to police such activity.

Our terms and conditions state:

15. "Junk email" (SPAM, flames, and mail-bombs)
15.1. Our servers and our hosted domains may not be the source, intermediary, or destination address involved in the transmission of junk email, nor will they be listed in any junk email message. The use of our servers to send or relay junk email is prohibited.
15.2. We define "junk email" to be a mass unsolicited message in any medium. Violation will result in immediate termination of all services without refund. Fines and legal action may be imposed. Any customer who is repeatedly flamed/mail-bombed or attracts such behaviour will be asked to leave.
15.3. Client mailing lists must only contain recipients who have given their permission to the client to send information emails.

In addition, anyone reported as using the features of PaxiGo to send spam, even inadvertently, will find that the offending mailing list will be deleted by us.

I hope that you all understand that this is in the interests of everyone using our service.
